In 2016, Ayush Jain watched his family do something most people would find terrifying. They closed the doors on the general store that his dad was running in Guna, packed their lives into boxes, and moved to Indore to start anew. At just 15 years of age, Ayush watched his father, mother and elder brother turn their home into a makeshift factory as they learnt the ropes of a new business.
A few machines took up a corner of the house, fabric piled up in another. Working together as a family, the only thing they focused on was the next step forward. And that’s exactly what Ayush did when he finally joined the business after finishing his B.Com.
Read on to know what this young Flipkart seller has achieved in just 11 months with digital commerce expanding the horizons of a brand-new business his family built brick by brick.
Without a Blueprint
“My father wasn’t very educated but wanted to do better in business. At the same time, he wanted to give my brother and me a better education,” says Ayush. That was what the move from the small agricultural district of Guna to the industrial hub of Indore was all about. Leaving behind a life and a general store of his own at the age of 50 wouldn’t have been easy, but Ayush’s father had a simple belief: a bigger city held the keys to a bigger future for his family.
At the suggestion of an acquaintance, the family tried their hand at manufacturing homeware and kitchenware. While they knew nothing about it, the idea was simple: start small, learn the trade, and see where it led. “We started learning and working on it at the same time,” recalls Ayush.
The family’s first workshop was the house they rented. They began manufacturing products like storage and laundry boxes, garment covers and more. Every order brought something new to learn and how to solve problems they had never encountered before.
“We did everything ourselves,” says Ayush. “Gradually, we started understanding and mastering the process.” For nearly four years, the family worked together. Everyone contributed where they could. Slowly, what had started out as a dream began taking shape as a business. “We first took contract orders. Then we began to get B2B orders. Soon, we became adept at white-label manufacturing,” he says.
Swapping an MBA for Real-World Experience as a Flipkart Seller
By the time Ayush completed college, the family business had established a steady footing with bulk orders. After completing his B.Com., Ayush chose to focus entirely on the business rather than pursue higher studies.
“My dream was always to do business,” he says. “I am a Jain, and that’s common in our community. But I wanted to do something different from everyone else.” While relatives and friends encouraged him to consider an MBA, his attention was on the business his brother and dad were trying to grow.
“Studying further was an option, but I felt the business had much more potential if I gave it my full attention,” he explains. That opportunity arrived through e-commerce.
In 2025, Ayush launched the brand Ghar Organize and became a Flipkart Seller, listing products the family was already manufacturing. “I wanted to do something other than the traditional wholesale route. Selling online gave us the chance to reach customers across India directly,” says Ayush. The response came sooner than he expected.
Embracing the New Direction
“In our first month on Flipkart, we sold around 700 units. But it wasn’t long before daily orders reached 500,” says Ayush. For this Flipkart Seller, however, numbers mattered less than what they represented.
He saw a huge opportunity in this category on Flipkart, and seeing the demand scale gave Ayush the opportunity to think bigger. Working with his brother, he added new products, such as shoe bags and jewelry pouches. “Initially, we were manufacturing most products ourselves, but as orders increased, we wanted to focus on quality checks and packing. Doing production ourselves takes a lot of resources, so we found the right vendors who only work for us,” says Ayush with unmistakable pride.

Within its first 11 months of Flipkart, the business has successfully fulfilled more than 1.25 lakh orders. Supporting this growth requires coordination across multiple cities. “We get the fabric from Rajkot, some components from Delhi, and coordinate production across multiple facilities,” he says. Each step contributes a vital building block to the final product, and Ayush and his family are clear about one thing: quality always comes first.
The success of the online wing has also reshaped roles within the family. Ayush now takes charge of sales, marketing, and sourcing, while his brother focuses on quality, profitability, and new product development. “We have clear responsibilities, but every major decision is discussed together,” says Ayush.
“Our work increased more than 2X in less than 1 year,” says Ayush, and the workforce has expanded in tandem. “When we were doing it ourselves, there were only 8–10 people working with us. After we started on e-commerce, the team kept growing. Today, if I add everyone together, around 50 people work across different facilities, and about 50% of them are women,” says Ayush proudly.
For this young Flipkart seller, growth is reflected in a larger team, a strong emphasis on having a women-friendly workplace, and opportunities that now support many more people than the family could have imagined when they first started.
A Foundation For Bigger Dreams

Before Ayush experienced his first Big Billion Days, he predicted that orders would increase during this time. What he did not anticipate was the scale of the surge. On a typical day, the business dispatched around 500 orders. During BBD, that figure climbed to as many as 2,500 orders a day.
“I had no idea the increase would be that much,” he says. “I used to watch other sellers talk about it, but I never imagined it would happen this way!”
If the early years laid the foundation of this family business and the online journey expanded it, the Big Billion Days Sale tested its strength. More orders meant longer working hours, additional packing support, and tighter coordination. “We had to get more labor and give incentive to our workers,” Ayush says. “Even with the increase in orders, we managed to dispatch all packages on time.”
Apart from timely fulfilment, an aspect that Ayush credits for his success is learning more about ads and pricing on Flipkart. “I explored a few other online marketplaces but the data that Flipkart provides is better. If you ask me, Flipkart’s seller insights are the most helpful tool. If someone wants to grow, they can just study and implement them,” he says.
Within months of launching his family business online, Ayush was invited to a FlipStar event, where he received the Big Bang Debut Award. “It felt good to see our work being recognized,” he says. The milestones, however, have not been limited to the business. “I bought a car in 2025, and we own a home now. We are also looking at a new property,” he says.
When he does step away from the business, it is usually for cricket. “I went to Ahmedabad to see their match,” says the devoted RCB fan. Watching his team finally turn years of hope into back-to-back IPL titles has given him one more thing to cheer for. But even then, his attention rarely stays away for long. “The real excitement lies in taking the family business much further,” adds Ayush.
