My name is Shashidhar G, and I hail from Perdur, a town in the Udupi district of Karnataka.

I live with my parents and five siblings. My father and mother have always been my guiding light, teaching me values of hard work and responsibility. Being the eldest son, I have shouldered my share of responsibilities, but these responsibilities have shaped me into who I am today.

I completed my education in Perdur, and soon after, I joined Flipkart in 2014. Today, even after more than a decade on the job, I still show up with the same energy and dedication as I did on my very first day. I’ve learned that I’m not just fulfilling customers’ wishes in this job. I’m also building a better life for myself and my family. The pride I feel from supporting them is immense.

Over the years, I have delivered thousands of shipments to countless customers. In the process, I built a life and identity for myself and my family. I’ve been a small but important part of a huge delivery network, and it’s a journey that has changed my life.

I report at the Flipkart hub early in the morning. The day begins with segregation of shipments, preparing the run sheet, and assigning routes. By around 10:00 AM, I hit the road with my delivery load for the day.

On an average day, I deliver about 120 shipments. Since I’ve worked across multiple routes over the years, I know most areas inside out. For the past couple of years, I’ve been delivering to the same locality, which makes my work even smoother. Knowing the streets and the customers makes every delivery personal and efficient.

And yes, after 11 years, many customers recognize me by name and smile when they see me coming with their parcel. That trust and recognition are irreplaceable. I have also mentored new Wishmasters since I have worked across multiple routes and am a familiar face to customers.

I have been a part of 10 Big Billion Day events, and this year will be my 11th BBD stint with Flipkart. These days are like festivals to us Wishmasters! The energy at the hub is unmatched. There is excitement, cheer, and also the challenge of handling higher volumes.

On average, during BBD, my load shoots up to 200 shipments a day. It’s demanding but also rewarding — it feels like we are on a mission to deliver joy across India. The adrenaline, the camaraderie at the hub, and the collection of memories—all make BBD my favorite time of the year.

I get my work done faster because the app designed for the Wishmasters streamlines everything. It’s reduced our efforts, and things are done automatically now. Calls are made through the app, and the navigation makes it so much easier to find customer addresses.

This makes it easy to track and deliver parcels. When I do face a technical issue, I know I can count on my hub manager and team leads to provide alternative solutions or escalate the problem for a quick resolution.

Technology has made a huge difference – I can confidently say it’s one of the keys that helped me stay productive and consistent over these many years.

People often ask me what my favorite part of the job is. For me, it’s simply everything. From riding out on my route, to meeting people, to seeing their happy faces when receiving orders, it all gives me fulfillment. The fact that Flipkart has made it possible for me to earn steadily to support my family this way is my biggest motivation. I also use my experience to work with new Wishmasters and show them how some processes work.

Thanks to my work as a Wishmaster, I’ve been able to save enough to buy vehicles for my family members and ensure all our daily needs are met through my own efforts.

Outside of work, my biggest passion is cricket. Whenever I get an off day or free time, you will most likely find me on the ground playing with friends or my siblings. It gives me joy and helps me stay connected with friends and with myself.

One day, when the time feels right, I wish to start my own small-scale business in my hometown. Maybe a shop or some small enterprise that will allow me to build something independently. Until then, I’m happily serving as a Wishmaster, riding across Perdur’s roads and delivering trust.
