Flipkart Minutes Opens its 1,000th Micro Fulfilment Center in Gorakhpur, as Uttar Pradesh Powers the Next Phase of Quick Commerce Growth

Gorakhpur - June 30, 2026: Flipkart Minutes, the quick commerce offering from Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, today opened its 1,000th micro fulfilment center in Gorakhpur, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a key growth engine for quick commerce in India. Orders in the state have grown 6X year-on-year, with Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets recording 20X growth, making Uttar Pradesh one of Flipkart Minutes’ fastest-growing markets in the country. With 120+ micro fulfilment centers across 20 cities, the state is increasingly driving the next phase of quick commerce growth beyond metropolitan India.

Gorakhpur’s selection for this milestone reflects where the next phase of quick commerce growth in India is heading, not just deeper into metropolitan cities, but into the cities and communities that make up the heart of Bharat. From Noida to Varanasi, Lucknow to Prayagraj, and now Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh has demonstrated that demand for speed, convenience and quality is no longer a metropolitan phenomenon. It is increasingly becoming an Indian one.

Uttar Pradesh Leads the Next Phase of Quick Commerce Growth

Since its launch, Flipkart Minutes has expanded across Noida, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Moradabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Unnao, Agra, Bareilly, and Gorakhpur, driven by rising consumer demand and growing adoption beyond metropolitan centers. Consumer preferences across these markets are becoming increasingly diverse. Fruits and vegetables average order value has grown 30% in tier 2 and tier 3 markets, while categories such as electronics and gadgets are seeing strong adoption; a clear signal that quick commerce in Uttar Pradesh has moved well beyond grocery. Noida has emerged as the state's biggest late-night shopping market, with consumers placing orders well into the night across categories including electronics, beauty, and daily essentials.

Building Economic Opportunities Across Uttar Pradesh

Flipkart Minutes’ expansion across Uttar Pradesh is creating employment across store operations, supply chain, warehousing and last-mile delivery. Through direct sourcing initiatives, partnerships with Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and the Samarth Krishi programme, Flipkart is improving market access for hundreds of farmers and producers across the state, while creating thousands of new employment opportunities and strengthening local agricultural value chains.

Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as one of the country’s leading hubs for industrial and digital growth. Hon’ble Minister for Industrial Development, Shri Nand Gopal Gupta, said, “The state government remains committed to promoting investment, innovation, and modern infrastructure. Backed by industry-friendly policies and a robust logistics network, the state is witnessing steady growth in the e-commerce, quick commerce, and supply chain sectors. The Uttar Pradesh Government’s objective is not only to attract investments but also to build an ecosystem that benefits farmers, traders, and consumers alike. I am confident that Uttar Pradesh will continue to play a leading role in driving India’s digital economy and industrial development in the years ahead.”

He further said that with the support of leading investors, including Flipkart, the state is expanding its modern supply chain and quick commerce network, resulting in improved service reach and the creation of more employment opportunities.

Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart Group said, “The significance of this milestone goes beyond the opening of our 1,000th Micro Fulfilment Center. It reflects a much larger shift in India’s digital economy, where the next phase of growth is increasingly being driven by Bharat. Uttar Pradesh is at the heart of that transformation. At Flipkart, we are committed to partnering with the state to create greater opportunities for farmers, MSMEs, sellers and local communities, while bringing greater convenience to customers through technology and innovation. Flipkart Minutes’ rapid expansion across the state has been enabled by the Uttar Pradesh Government’s industry-focused policies and proactive engagement. We are grateful to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji and the Hon’ble Minister for Industrial Development Shri Nand Gopal Gupta Ji for their continued support, and we look forward to deepening our partnership with the state in the years ahead.”
